We take our member’s club experience very seriously. We are constantly upgrading and evolving the club to meet and exceed your fitness and wellness needs. Come in and see us!
WSC is an active supporter of several local charities. Some of the organizations we collaborate with each year include: Ronald McDonald House Charities, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Outreach Community Ministries, American Association of University Women, Soles for Souls, and more. In 2016, we also supported Tennis Thanks the Troops, Rally for a Cure, and Cal’s Angels for Pediatric Cancer. In addition, we provide donations to over 50 local school and charity events for their annual fundraisers.

Lori was one of the original pickleball enthusiasts here at WSC and her desire to spread the word and help others learn the game motivated her to become a pickleball coach. She is a Suzee Anderson Academy Certified Pickleball Instructor and enjoys teaching WSC’s Pickleball 101 and 250 classes. Lori brings energy, fun and knowledge to the court and believes that EVERYONE needs to play this awesome sport! At the club since: 2023

Bill joins the WSC tennis team after 14 years at the Homewood-Flossmoor Racquet and Fitness Club, where he served as the league and lesson coordinator, tournament director and referee. He is an award-winning USTA official, named the CTUC 2015 Roving Official of the Year and the CTUC 2019 Chair Umpire of the Year. A lifelong learner of tennis, Bill earned the 2011 Midwest USPTA Midwest Education of the Year award. At HFR&FC, Bill specialized in teaching youth tennis, which includes 10 and under through high school players. He also teaches adult beginners through intermediates. He is a certified Cardio Tennis Instructor and is IPTPA certified Pickleball instructor. Bill received his USPTA certification in 2008 and holds a PTR Junior 10 and under certification. Bill competes in USTA tournaments and leagues and is a member of the Wilson Advisory staff. At the club since: 2021
As the Evolution Kids Tennis Coordinator, Matt oversees all aspects of WSC’s Evolution Kids (10 & Under) Tennis program. When previously at WSC, Matt’s main focus was Evolution Kids Tennis although he also coached adults and juniors of all levels. Matt is both PTR and USPTA certified as well as a licensed Elementary PE teacher. In addition to coaching at the Sport Center, he has also taught physical education, coached both boys and girls teams at Downers Grove North High School, and was head pro at Downers Grove Swim & Racquet Club and Edgewood Valley Country Club in Burr Ridge. Matt enjoys teaching technical skills and tennis basics as well as helping experienced players improve their tactics and strategy. Matt’s tennis philosophy is to create a balance between having fun on the court and learning how to develop proficient tennis skills for all ages. At the club since 2024

Linda grew up in Germany and competed from a young age in statewide tennis leagues, becoming an accomplished junior player. She moved 6 years ago to the USA and fell in love teaching tennis as a coach at Wheaton North High School. As a 4.5 level player, she continues to compete in several USTA leagues, and won the 2019 Illinois State and Midwest Regional women’s doubles combo championships. Linda is certified by the Professional Tennis Registry and enjoys teaching both youth and adults alike. She looks forward to helping WSC players gain the confidence and skills needed to achieve success and enjoy the great lifetime sport of tennis. At the club since: 2021

Danilo grew up playing tennis in the western suburbs, and played on the Maine South High School Varsity team for all 4 years. In 2017, he finished 2nd in the IHSA State Tournament. He was ranked #1 in the USTA Chicago District in Boys 18 and qualified for the Kalamazoo Nationals in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Danilo competed on the Ball State University Division 1 Men’s team and earned NCAA First Team Honors in 2021 and 2022. He has experience teaching players of all ages, from 10 & under through adults and has coached at both the Park Ridge Park District and the Park Ridge Country Club. Danilo is excited to share is knowledge, enthusiasm, love of tennis and competitive drive with WSC’s players of all ages and levels. At the club since 2023.

Karl is a PTR Certified Tennis Professional and has over 30 years of experience in the Chicagoland area. He also enjoys teaching players of all ages and skills levels, although his focus has been on developing junior performance players and has produced local, Midwest and nationally ranked players. Karl played tennis at the College of St. Francis and was an All-Conference, All-District and National Championship participant. He earned his highest USTA ranking in 1993 when he was ranked #6 in the Midwest in the Mens 25 & under division. He has coached multiple USTA and NITTL teams and he also captained a USTA 9.0 Mixed Doubles Team to the USTA National Championships in 2006. At the club since: 2014

Mark is a Wheaton native and has been playing at Wheaton Sport Center since 1979. His passion for the game and desire to help others learn led him to becoming a teaching professional. He joined the WSC team of tennis professionals and also became PTR certified in 2014. Mark enjoys working with all ages, from beginner to performance players and he continues to compete in USTA leagues & tournaments. He has been ranked #1 for his age group in the Chicagoland area in both singles and doubles for multiple years. At the club since: 2014

Brant is a lifelong tennis player and instructor, as well as a lifelong guitar teacher. In high school in Pennsylvania, he was the #1 seed in state doubles two years in a row. Although he chose to step away from collegiate tennis to attend Berklee College of Music, tennis has remained a central part of his life. While at Berklee, he was able to compete in one Division III collegiate season through a partnership with Emerson College. Brant taught tennis privately in Pennsylvania before continuing his coaching career at Midtown Athletic Club Chicago, where he taught all ages and skill levels in group and private lessons. You can find Brant on the WSC courts teaching both junior and adult classes, cardio tennis, and private lessons. Brant is enthusiastic about sharing his tennis expertise with his students to help them succeed and love the sport as much as he does. At the club since: 2026

Originally from Ireland, Emily has dedicated over 15 years to the sport of tennis, establishing a remarkable career as both a player and a coach. Growing up as a top junior player in Ireland, she brought a wealth of talent and determination to the United States, where she excelled at the collegiate level. As a student-athlete at Indiana Wesleyan University, Emily played a pivotal role in leading the team to a historic top three finish in their division. Following her successful playing career, she transitioned into coaching, serving as an assistant coach at Indiana Wesleyan University and later at Lakeshore in Chicago and Wynstone in Barrington. At Wheaton Sport Center, Emily combines her extensive experience and passion for tennis to inspire and develop players of all levels. At the club since 2024

Jill started playing tennis in Dallas where she competed in the Tennis Competitors of Dallas as a doubles player. She also competed in USTA singles leagues until injuries forced her out of competitive play. Jill is passionate about helping players grow their skills and love for the game. Whether working with beginners or competitive players, Jill emphasizes strong fundamentals, smart tactics, and having fun on the court. Jill is thrilled to be part of the Wheaton community and connect with members both on and off the court. At the club since 2026

Rick is accomplished as both a tennis player and coach. He played Division 1 college tennis at the University of Northern Colorado and boasts an extensive tennis coaching career: Head Coach of the women’s team at Muskegon Community College, Head Boys Varsity coach and girls assistant coach at Prospect High School, Head Girls Varsity Coach at St. Francis High School and Men’s Assistant Coach at Wheaton College. He also has coached at Whitewater’s Warhawks Summer Tennis Camps. Having decided to leave his coaching position at Wheaton, Rick now has time to help us out here at WSC! Rick will be coaching both competitive juniors and adults and he’s excited to be a part of the Sport Center. At the club since 2024
