Wheaton Sport Center exists to improve and energize the quality of life for members and their families through motivation, support, and exceptional service in a safe and friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
We take our member’s club experience very seriously. We are constantly upgrading and evolving the club to meet and exceed your fitness and wellness needs. Come in and see us!
The gym is a shared space and is sometimes reserved as part or all of the gym. Please be respectful of these reservations and their activities. For schedule and open gym times, please refer to the Gym Schedule above.

WSC is an active supporter of several local charities. Some of the organizations we collaborate with each year include: Ronald McDonald House Charities, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Outreach Community Ministries, American Association of University Women, Soles for Souls, and more. In 2016, we also supported Tennis Thanks the Troops, Rally for a Cure, and Cal’s Angels for Pediatric Cancer. In addition, we provide donations to over 50 local school and charity events for their annual fundraisers.

Karl is a PTR Certified Tennis Professional and has over 30 years of experience in the Chicagoland area. He also enjoys teaching players of all ages and skills levels, although his focus has been on developing junior performance players and has produced local, Midwest and nationally ranked players. Karl played tennis at the College of St. Francis and was an All-Conference, All-District and National Championship participant. He earned his highest USTA ranking in 1993 when he was ranked #6 in the Midwest in the Mens 25 & under division. He has coached multiple USTA and NITTL teams and he also captained a USTA 9.0 Mixed Doubles Team to the USTA National Championships in 2006. At the club since: 2014
630-315-5326Mark is a Wheaton native and has been playing at Wheaton Sport Center since 1979. His passion for the game and desire to help others learn led him to becoming a teaching professional. He joined the WSC team of tennis professionals and also became PTR certified in 2014. Mark enjoys working with all ages, from beginner to performance players and he continues to compete in USTA leagues & tournaments. He has been ranked #1 for his age group in the Chicagoland area in both singles and doubles for multiple years. At the club since: 2014
630-315-5326Danilo grew up playing tennis in the western suburbs, and played on the Maine South High School Varsity team for all 4 years. In 2017, he finished 2nd in the IHSA State Tournament. He was ranked #1 in the USTA Chicago District in Boys 18 and qualified for the Kalamazoo Nationals in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Danilo competed on the Ball State University Division 1 Men’s team and earned NCAA First Team Honors in 2021 and 2022. He has experience teaching players of all ages, from 10 & under through adults and has coached at both the Park Ridge Park District and the Park Ridge Country Club. Danilo is excited to share is knowledge, enthusiasm, love of tennis and competitive drive with WSC’s players of all ages and levels. At the club since 2023.
630-315-5326Bill joins the WSC tennis team after 14 years at the Homewood-Flossmoor Racquet and Fitness Club, where he served as the league and lesson coordinator, tournament director and referee. He is an award-winning USTA official, named the CTUC 2015 Roving Official of the Year and the CTUC 2019 Chair Umpire of the Year. A lifelong learner of tennis, Bill earned the 2011 Midwest USPTA Midwest Education of the Year award. At HFR&FC, Bill specialized in teaching youth tennis, which includes 10 and under through high school players. He also teaches adult beginners through intermediates. He is a certified Cardio Tennis Instructor and is IPTPA certified Pickleball instructor. Bill received his USPTA certification in 2008 and holds a PTR Junior 10 and under certification. Bill competes in USTA tournaments and leagues and is a member of the Wilson Advisory staff. At the club since: 2021
630-315-5386Rick is accomplished as both a tennis player and coach. He played Division 1 college tennis at the University of Northern Colorado and boasts an extensive tennis coaching career: Head Coach of the women’s team at Muskegon Community College, Head Boys Varsity coach and girls assistant coach at Prospect High School, Head Girls Varsity Coach at St. Francis High School and Men’s Assistant Coach at Wheaton College. He also has coached at Whitewater’s Warhawks Summer Tennis Camps. Having decided to leave his coaching position at Wheaton, Rick now has time to help us out here at WSC! Rick will be coaching both competitive juniors and adults and he’s excited to be a part of the Sport Center. At the club since 2024
630-315-5326Originally from Norway, Anders brings over 25 years of tennis experience to WSC as both a player and coach. Having grown up playing on red clay and indoor carpet, his early years in Norway laid a strong foundation for his skills. He began his coaching career in Norway and earned a professional coach’s certificate from the Norwegian Tennis Federation. Later, during his time competing for Division 1 Western Kentucky University, he transitioned to the hard courts, adapting his game to a whole new set of conditions. Anders’ passion for tennis is evident whenever he steps onto the court—whether competing or coaching. With a deep understanding of the technical and mental aspects of the game, Anders blends his rich playing experience with a coaching philosophy centered around growth, discipline, and enjoyment. Anders’ approach to coaching is rooted in a deep love for the sport and a commitment to helping players of all levels achieve their goals, whether it’s improving technical skills, refining strategies, or fostering a stronger mental game. His dedication and enthusiasm are contagious, inspiring players to push their limits and embrace the challenges of the sport. At WSC, Anders will concentrate his time in our High Performance program. 630-315-5326Connor first picked up a racket at the age of three and hasn’t set it down since. Connor loves to share his passion for tennis by teaching and getting new athletes involved in this life-long sport. Connor has been teaching since 2009, including at the Glen Ellyn Park District, at HealthTrack, and 5 seasons as a volunteer boys & girls coach for Glenbard East High School. As a player of 30 years, Connor’s experience enables him to quickly analyze and customize drills for individual players looking to step up to the next level. Connor is comfortable working with all ages and levels from beginner to advanced, in both singles and doubles. At the club since: 2022
630-315-5386Molly joins the WCS tennis team as a lifelong competitive tennis player and coach of many years. Molly played college tennis at Ball State during her Freshman year and then transferred to Taylor University where she played #1 singles and #1 doubles for all 3 seasons. Molly was named NAIA All-American and placed in top spots in several ITA tournaments. Prior to college, Molly was a competitive nationally ranked junior player, reaching Indiana’s #1 spot in her age division several times. At Carmel High School she led her team to 3 state championships and 1 doubles state championship with a high school record of 101-2. Molly works full-time in the non-profit sector and also coaches the Wheaton Academy Girls Tennis Team. She is a PTR certified tennis professional. At the club since: 2022
630.315.5386As a former high school varsity tennis player and lifelong lover of the game, Russ joins our team to follow his passion for tennis. He is an advocate for players developing flexibility, fitness and footwork, and believes that these are keys to longevity in the sport. Russ has always been an enthusiastic learner and he looks forward to using his experience and training to improve, inspire and bring more people into the amazing sport of tennis. Russ is a PTR Certified Tennis Professional as well as a certified USTA Official. At the club since: 2023
630-315-5326Mike joins the WSC team of Tennis Professionals with over 25 years of experience as a Tennis Professional, a Tennis Program Director, and a Tournament Director. Originally from Michigan, Mike has taught both juniors and adults of all ages and levels. He has a lifelong passion for tennis as both an accomplished player and coach. Among his on-court accomplishments, Mike has won multiple singles and doubles tournaments, including the USTA Mixed Doubles 8.0 National Championships and have coached players who have earned scholarships and advanced to Division I college competition. He is a USPTA certified tennis professional. At the club since 2023.
